Dear Friends,

It’s been quite a ride hasn’t it? 3 months together..

As the overall in charge of all fitness workouts and operations for the Lose to win Fitness Bootcamp portion, I’d like to thank everyone involved in this excellent project. 

  • Chief Trainers Zhywee and Faz- always working hard to get your team together to ensure the best for our clients…  on and off the training ground… your planning.. your drive.. your motivation.. your dedication.. your leadership.. what would I do without you two..
  • Dy Chief Trainers Matt Azmy and Ying Bin – for the support you’ve given to your Chief Trainers.. admin, logistics and operations..
  • All TrainersJack of all Fitness trades and master of some! Your dedication and effort goes beyond the call of duty.. the hundreds (literally hundreds) of exercises and modifications.. the hours you spend on researching and looking for something new to ensure variation of exercises.. your contribution to the exercise prescription.. We were strong from the start.. and now we’re so much stronger..   Remember what I always say – we must stay on top of the game.. always overdeliver.. and this project have proved to everyone that you’re the best out there.. inspirational, professional and ‘human’ at the same time!  Thank you for being by my side.

  • Lose to Win participants -  I remember the first day that I met you, some were looking nervous, some excited.. you guys seem to be sizing me and the other trainers up that day :)
  • It’s been 3 months.. we’ve been through so much together – and the trainers, your colleages, your platoon mate, your company mates.. have seen how much you’ve improved in fitness and change in body shape..It’s just OUTSTANDING.
  • From ground zero to hero. Do you know that according to research, there is a high dropout rate within the first month amongst overweight individuals when it comes to exercise? Look at you! Going strong even beyond thses 3 months.  Not only you give your best during the bootcamps, you are also motivated to workout on your own – even after the first week of bootcamp.. I wonder what’s the secret to your exercise adherance *winks*And your nutrition workshops – yes you’ve gone to seek knowledge.. but seriously, what is knowledge without taking action? You need the drive and motivation.. since Week 1 you acquired it.. together with your colleages and the trainers – remember how we inspire one another..  you Stepped Up to the challenge..
  • I was talking to a member of parliment (MP) about this programme and she asked me if you guys will continue this healthy lifestyle on your own..  I answered her with full confidence, “I’m sure they would.. most of them love exercising now” :) Look back – what have you improved within these 3 months? (These are the things that I hear from you guys)
    1. Physique
    2. Cardio ability
    3. Endurance
    4. Balance
    5. Joint Mobility
    6. Motor skill coordination
    7. Agility
    8. Speed
    9. Fat levels (lowered)
    10. Strength and more muscle mass
    11. Power
    12. Flexibility (Yeaps – Yoga and Pilates Baybeyy!!)
    13. Higher bone density (Thanks to the plyometrics and weight bearing activities)

    15. Health levels (lower cholesterol levels,
    16. Increase the high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or “good,” cholesterol in your bodies. Decreased triglycerides levels.
    17. Moods (Greater levels of Endophins when you exercise well)
    18. Lower stress levels

    20. Communication with your teammates and platoons

    WOW! 4am ++ Sharm you still awake.
    Ya time passes very fast, is end of 3 month.
    I would like to thank Sharm and your moviation trainers on behalf of IMH. We really learn a lot of things from you that money cannot buy.A very good experience for all of us. I did not sign up (so sad) due to busy schedules in Nov, Dec and Jan but I promise I will try my very best to do my workout daily.

    Sharm you know, is already a habit that every morning once I log on my computer, I will fill up my daily food breakdown on what I ate yesterday. After that I will go into your website to look see ..look see. (usually I will read what others pen down … very interesting but I never write anything)

    Firstly I would like to thanks my team mates (Bravo 3, East) for their moviation, effort and encouragement given to one another. I can see the Teamspirt is very GREAT.
    Secondly, Thanks to all trainers especially Sharm, Zhywee, Lisa, Matt and Ying Bin for not giving us up and keep PUSHING us all the way through the training end. Your PUSH is really great help to us.Without your PUSH I don’t thaink we look so fit today !

    This Fitness Bootcamp have really improved my life Style.
    Not only in Exercising but in other knowledge that how to exercise, the correct way of doing it.
    How to do exercise with your buddy together.
    No matter how there is still a modifications way of exercises, and there will be no excuse for not exercise daily. I strongly recommendation to everyone to join this Boot camp.
    My great achievement is I loses 4 inches in my waist (36 to 32) My hip (43 to 39.5.)
    I need to work even harder if I want to look like Zhywee & Lisa (haha… my dream goal)

    I alway remember what Zhywee say ” if you don’t move nothing will happen”.
    Our body is like the water in a fish tank. When we keep pushing the water in tank in means we are increasing our metobolism. This will help us to burn our fats faster.

    I am fortunate to join in this Lose to Win programme.Get to know a group of wonderful trainers who ready push us all the way to meet our target.During this 3 months i have learnt alot of things & of cause my Physical stamina step up to another level. Appreicate all the great helps from the trainers.No words to express my gratitude towards them.

    Beside that i also like to share my view of this Lose to win is not a matter to win the prize.Once everyone join in this fitness programme all of us is already a BIG Winner. I am ready proud & would like to salute to those team mate who is much double or triple my size even thought i dun know their name but they are ready a team of people with the flighting spirit to accomplished the task.They ready have done it.

    I will feel sad after this 31st Oct 2009 Assessment.But i will hope that we can still communicate in the facebook to keep in touch.

    I am so proud to have join in this Lose to Win Programme.With the groups of wonderful Trainers i have gain confident & my Physical stamina also have step up 1 level up. No words can express my gratitude towards the trainers for making a new make over me during this 3 months.I have received praises from surrounding who knows me& that make me feel great :) .

    I have somethings to share to the Bootcampers – we are all the BIG WINNERS & not the loser.I am ready astonished by those bootcampers who is ready BIG but they ready go out it to accomplised the fitness.I ready salute to them & keep up all the hard up .     Yeah..its been 3mths we’ve been together and has taught me alot ya..from being a lazybumbum..to a person who feels motivated now to shred the extra extra kilos in me..gain the energy level..step up..step up!

    Not forget to bootcampers..where we start as strangers..but now as frenz..teamworks and memorable moments shared..lets not end our frenships here ya..do keep touch!

    Dear Battle mates & Trainers

    This is our last week together or rather 3 days before our last assessment. I believe all of us starting to miss each other (battle mates and trainers) as we can see that there was a lot of ‘LOSE TO WIN’ photos taken & posted on each other’s facebook.

    We are on our own after 31/10/09 as we are getting back to our own ‘position’. Please do not let our effort as well as trainers’ effort go down the drain for these 12 weeks. Remember to eat healthy (portion), live healthy (exercise) and to maintain a healthy lifestyle (because no one going to push us anymore – trainers no longer there to guide us and we have to determine to maintain it)

    For me, I have set a list of activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle – with a group of boot camp friends. We have set and challenge ourselves to lose more weights. As I have mentioned before – MOTIVATION, SUPPORT and DETERMINATION WITH PLANS – will make you go forward to journey of losing weight in turn a healthy lifestyle and healthy body.

    Lastly, I want to thank
    1) Trainers – Sharm, Zhywee, Faz, Lisa, Ying Bin, Matt Asmy, Andyn, Herbert, Herman, Nurul, & Damian – for your encouragement (you can do it !), guidance (teach the proper exercise way & correct my problem/posture), advice and pushing (Don’t be lazy lah!)
    2) Bravo 1 team mates – for your encouragement and friendship – Let continue our journey further together after boot camp.
    3) Chong Yue-En and Lanto – for your encouragement and comments.
    4) Platoon mates – for penning down your experiences and thought, it encouraging to know we are not alone struggling to healthy lifestyle. Good luck to all of you.

    WE ARE GOING TO GRADUATE THIS SATURDAY!! HOORAY!!

    To: Those who signed up for the boot camp.

    I really envy you guys because you manage to join the boot camp. I was not able to join because the timing [place ok, time not ok – working on Sat] and location [place – not ok, timing cannot make it on time– on Thursday evening] .

    I have checked the activities of Team Fitness guru before, and found that trainers have a lot up and in their sleeve (in term of exercise and workout) as they have cater to the need of the boot camp individuals. I also have noticed that they have show us some, but not all because the restriction from HPB requirement and such a big group of ‘Lose to Win’ participants to cater for.

    By the way, I have joined one session (@$28/session), that why I know. You will regret that because they really take your needs and goals VERY VERY SERIOUS. [Was I right, Ying Bin?]

    Not forgetting to give them your goals (which they will ask you – so that they can cater to your needs) in your 1st training.

    Ah ya! It is so much cheaper now, and wish I can join lah! Envy envy you all.

    [P/s Sharm – Kindly consider to give me an discount when I will able to join back you in the future ok? Pls lah! Thank in advance]

    I can’t believe the program have gone-by so quickly. I’ll thank the people that kept me going all year. Being a trainer is truly a team effort.

    To my Team, thank you for guidance and taking care of me. To the participants, you have make me laugh and smile and share your world to me. Thank you for proving me again that with perseverance, you will succeed.

    As it is said in Hawaii, there is no goodbye. Just a Aloha Ooi, Till we meet again. ;)

    Hi Bootcampers,

    It has been a 12-weeks of sweat and muscle aches. But I am sure it is all worth it. I have seen fantastic results from all of you. Well done!!!

    After this Saturday’s assessment will see the closing of a chapter in your life. Thereafter, the opening of a new chapter, full of optimism and perseverance. The journey will be a long one, with many setbacks along the way. Take all these setbacks in your stride and you will achieve your ultimate goal.

    I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all my fellow trainers for their guidance and tender loving care.

    It’s make me feel sad whenever i read all comments, we know that is times to say sayonara to everyone, but is ok, we still can keep in touch with all teammates or triners anytime & anywhere.

    Like us Bravo 3 from the East, we plan to have our 1st gathering on 6 Nov ’09 after the NHLC event, just to rewards ourselves for all the hard work that we put in, of course we also agreed that we will continue our daily workout as well.

    Although there is a slight distance to my ideal weight (my gaol that i set it on 11 Aug ’09) but i promiss to myself that i must and i can do it by end Dec ’09.

    Two more days to our FINAL EXAM, i wish all bootcampers all the best on your final fitness test.

    i really enjoy the training, not only turn me become slimmer and fitter, it also get to know lot’s of new friends through this program, once again, i would like to take this opportunity to thank all the lovely trainers for their guidance and care.

    Trainer OELLL, Bootcampers OELLL and Everybody OELLL…….i will miss this for sure.

    Time really flies, just like blinking our eyes we are in finishing lines of this events. Through out this 12 wks, I guess all of us have learnt and gains a lot of experience. Now exercise has become part of my daily meals!I can see new look on me and am proud of myself(although did not lose much).

    I am sure you agree with me its because we really enjoy the fun that we forgot the pain during the training. Franky speaking is really not easy to go through this training.
    The GREAT THING is the way the trainers train us that make us enjoy througout the journey of this Boot Camp.

    Oh my god the more i read the more i feel sad.
    Finale Finale Finale sob sob.

    Well this will be the most experience and memorable page in my life other than my wedding, although we need to say good bye to everyone but at least we leave with a more fitter, slimmer body and a better healthy life style.

    I sincerely wish all Trainers and Bootcampers all the best, good health and good fortune to win all in your daily lives.

    You may not join the boot camp due to some reasons (like me), something to share with you to encourage you further to continue EXERCISING, and don’t let the 12 weeks’ effort wasted.

    From HPB :
    There are many activities organizing with them such as Yoga, I Run, Aerobics, power walk brisk walk club, etc.

    From CC
    1. There are many activities such as Brisk walk club, Dancing club , etc
    2. Dancing / exercising classes such as Folk, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, country, western, Contra, flemnco, social etc

    From Libraries
    You can get exercise DVDs and VCDs on Aerobics, Yoga, belly dance, kickboxing, walking, hip hop dance, fitness ball, pilates, etc.

    From Team Fitness Guru
    a) You have the DVD given at the 1st day of Lose to Win challenges
    b) Some video clips at Team Fitness Guru and Fitness boot camp websites (they have two websites)
    c) They posted some video clips at YOU TUBE
    c) You can sign up with them at the later stage : http://fitnessbootcamp.sg/signup. [I am not selling for them but found that their programme not bad only]

    YOU HAVE THE CHOICE TO LEAD A LIVE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.

    It has been an Amazing experience – to ‘play’ with you guys and it doesnt feel like im working!
    The cheers, the laughter, the team spirit, the whining (heheh), the exercises, the runs/walks, the tabata, the smiles and lastly the sweat —– A whole lot of calories burn! Its proven that some of you burn more than 1000++ calories!How great is that.

    To see each and everyone progress, be it physically, fitness level or even the ones that Sharm listed above, makes me feel like a proud Mama! This progression of yours make me look back on the reasons why Im in this field.I love it.Thank you for letting the TeamFitnessGuru team to be part of your journey to health.

    Its great to see regardless of Race,Sex or Religion or Companies that is, we all bond together and work hand in hand for a common goal. This is not the end.This is just the beginning of a whole new life ahead of you.We hope you take back the things that we shared online or on the field, and apply it to your routine.

Azmy’s story has been an inspiration. Arnold has been such a sport receiving all the oohs and aahs from Alpha 3 at his station. Praises to Faz, Lisa, Stacey and Zhywee. Ur bodies are to be envied – so supple and malleable!! Not forgetting Sharm, too, who’s forever waiting for our assignment.
    Thanks a zillion to all bootcampers (esp. to all Alpha 3 members!). Have enjoyed ur company immensely during exercise (Christopher, Eric, Morgan, Erlina, Shu Ling, Khairiah, my fellow NCC team and all that I can’t name thro’ lack of space!!)Musn’t forget to thank Lay Choo’s husband, Edmund, who drove us at the speed of lighting to get to the bootcamp on time every Tues.     I would like to send my Compliment to HPB Organiser & the Team of Efficent Coaches for providing us with an Inovative excercise.
    Before participating in this excercise, my staminal was poor, but now I have ability to play a strech of badminton from 1 game up to 4~5 game. Not only that I’m physicaly gained I improve mentally & more refreshing.
    Although this program complete already, I still continue joining to keep myself fit.
    Coaches Great Job Keep It Up.

    It comes to the end today, in our black ‘BIG’ T-shirt – not just the BIG word on the chest, but actually become too ‘BIG’ for us. Any way, we going to have another T-shirt [Smaller and fitter one], hooray.

    Today, we enjoying ourselves brisk walking [assessment], cheering for our friends, ……….etc. At the end of it, take photos with our ‘favorite’ trainers [handsome, pretty, macho, funny, .....etc] and not forgetting our media corp – showing our faces on TV, and our last session with our trainers.

    Look forward ….. to see each other – hopefully in our ‘LOSE to WIN’ anniversary next year, and show off our ‘sexy -for female’, ‘macho-for male’ bodies.

    As I sit here looking out at the pouring rain, I’m really thankful for the good weather we had to walk this morning, cool, cloudy, without the hot sun sapping out strength. I was worried that it was going to rain, but looked like that held up till we managed to finish everything that we had to do, for that I’m really thankful.

    As I sit here reflecting, I’ve realised that there are so many people to thank, all the very understanding trainers, and my good dear dear platoon mates from Alpha 2. You are the ones who made the difference to my entire experience.

    Definitely, I have become a different person, not just shape wise but in terms on how my body takes to food; after our very good Japanese lunch today, I was scheduled to go out for lots of beer and German pork Knuckles till I realised that if I did eat that, I would feel very very sick indeed. Some of you might be experiences the excellent by-effects of a healthy new lifestyle, and do relish that! Don’t go back to what you were living but I do pray that you’ll forge ahead with strength! =)

    Once again, thank you for everything, and I do hope to see all of you in the future, fit, healthy and on the ball!

    It’s hard to express all the thanks we want to give to you trainers..but I thought blogging something is better than nothing :P

    I guess we read and heard about many success stories…and I must take my hat off the winners..the ones who persevered in trainings and kept to strict diets as TFG advised.

    Nope I ain’t one of them :P but I’m still sharing my story coz I think there must be a few people out there who’s like me..not too disciplined or something…I want to spur all of us together because we did not win over our mind, heart, body and soul yes…but we can we should we MUST!

    I lost 2 kg…gained fitness and toner muscles i think..I am a little disappointed at myself because the trainers did their best to help us yet i didn’t achieve my personal target of 5kg or more..But waittt..i’m not despairing and then binging on more burgers or fries…I guess like Sharm said..it’s the knowledge he wants us to take away..not only the calories and numbers on the scale…I surely know how to exercise more properly now..even basic stuff like breathing technique…which I’m worst at…

    KUDOS TO ALL TRAINERS~~I’ll work harder! Cya soon.

    Well i really enjoy myself on last Sat, not only lost weight and fat, i gain lot’s of nutrition knowledge, exercise tips and get to know lots’ of friends as well during this 12 weeks.

    I was sad too when i saw Zhywee and Lisa tears drop…..sob sob

    Thank you to my boss – the HR manager for her full support through out and especially last Sat at the stadium.

    I would like to say a big Thank you for all the encouragement and support that I have recieved over the past 3months. It seems like awfully long ago, but I am glad I took the first step and began my journey towards healthy living. Having gone through so much challenges through this 3 months I feel that I have definitely became stronger, faster, fitter and hopefully leaner. Now with the continuation of the training with you guys, my hope is that I could achieve my target weight for the end of the year! :)

    What journey we have been on yeah?
    I would haven’t gone through all that with out all of you. You have truly inspired me to move it move it! To be honest, the spirit that I have witness over the past 3 months is amazing.     I would like to say special thank yous to the following people whom I felt gave me immense support throughout my journey:

    You are all amazing for having come this far and achieved so much. Something each and every one of you should be proud of.

    I recall the first few weeks of boot camp where I saw determined participants “drag” themselves from one station to the next, looking a little gloomy and red in the face, some gasping for air but still you persevered. As the weeks passed, this “dragging” slowly changed to a light bounce in your step till I saw a group of individuals sometimes “struggling” from one station to the next but this time, they encouraged each other, they laughed and talked between stations……most of all they radiated “good health”.

    Watching you all each week just encouraged me to continue my workout sessions be it running, cycling, boot camp or going to the gym.

    Keeping and staying fit is hard work but it’s also fun and enjoyable and exhilarating and rewarding. Yes we’ll have days when it feels like too much work or we don’t have “enough time” but hopefully this experience will also give you some lasting memories of what living a healthy lifestyle can also bring.

    I hope the support from your work colleagues and the wisdom and advice offered by your trainers provides you with the encouragement to make this lifestyle change a permanent one.

    I’m looking forward to catching up with you at this Friday’s (6 Nov) launch to be held at Singapore Expo. Encourage your work colleagues, CEO, supervisors, etc to come along and get a taste of the “journey” you’ve experienced.

    A BIG congratulations on what you’ve achieved so far and here’s to more personal milestones to come. See you on the exercise trail….
