Follow our instructions during our workouts and during Sharing time – you’ll be on your way to SUCCESS.
For now – you have to know this very basic principle to losing fat
- Increase your caloric expenditure – by exercising and doing Effective workouts
- Lower your caloric intake – Eat, but eat lesser. Do not eat to the point that you’re full. Lower your food intake this and next week by 10%.
Your ‘Homework’
For any kind of intervention that is related to fitness, there are always the physical and mental angles that we should work on.
For this week, I need you to fill up the bottom portion of this blog post (Speak Your Mind
Tell us what you’re thinking) and write one or two short paragraphs. Here’s some guidelines.
A) What is your fitness goal?
B) What are the reasons why you want to achieve your goals?
C) How do you intend to achieve it?
Studies have shown that public declaration of goals results in better results. What are you waiting for?
Thank you so much for the positive reinforcement that you’ve given Team Fitness Guru – motivation works both ways
Glad to know that you’re seeing the trainers working hard. In order for you to achieve your success, YOU will need to work hard too. Let’s all give the best we can – together we will work effectively, efficiently and safely towards our goal.

Subject: Fasting Month From 22nd August 2009.
Please wake up for breakfast – drink lots and lots of water for sahur. Eat low GI food such as wholemeal bread or brown rice too – this will release energy slowly and is the smarter way to eat.
For breaking fast – I know you’re hungry, but eat slow and drink lots of water. I’d suggest you eat a bit for 3 minutes, then do your Maghrib. Then return back to have your dinner proper. This strategy allows your brain to get the signals from your stomach that your body is getting food and energy, and this ensures that you won’t eat too much (as compared to a one time dinner sitting where our brains only get the signals much later after you take your first bite). Eat low GI food if you can. And do not eat anything after 10pm.
For the workouts, do attend all sessions – you are free to sit out and rest at any time – only do the exercises that you can do. Our goal for you is to *MOVE* as much as you can, even if it’s only at 60% intensity ![]()
If you feel unwell during workout, please rest at the side.

Hi bootcampers, you have all taken the first BIG step in your quest in losing weight. I salute all of you. Remember – A balance diet and physical activities always go hand-in-hand in any weight management program.
Arnold (Trainer, East Side)
I’m so proud of Alpha Teams in Lose to Win Challenge. Your determination and endurance shine all over your face. Good Job guys and gals.
Lisa (Trainer, East Side)
I finally decided to take the plunge and join this challenge not only to lose weight but increase my fitness level for a healthier lifestyle. I have 3 young kids and have to shed off the weight I gained during my pregnancies. I want to live strong and healthy to watch my kids grow and also be an example to them of the type of lifestyles that they ought to lead. This will also show them that they can achieve anything in their lives as long as they put their heart and mind to it, along with some hardwork. Besides, while my kids proudly walk the streets with me holding my hand, I dread to think of a day when they are older and shy away from being with me in public out of embarrassment
Great job guys.I hope from this journey with us – you can begin to realize that your not weak and lazy – quite the opposite. You will feel strong, powerful and beautiful(inside and out).
Now,list down your fitness goals.
It has to come from within you or it won’t last. The changes won’t be permanent and therefore it’s irrelevant.
What you need to do is write down all of the things that you want-all of the reasons why you want to exercise.
- How come you want to be motivated?
- What is that motivation going to bring to you? Why is it that you want to get started on a fitness regimen?
It could be, “I want to look hot in my dress” or “I want to be able to chase my three-year-old during catching.” or even a race “I want to do a marathon before 40!” Whatever your reasons are, it doesn’t matter how shallow you think they are or how profound, post them because this list is going to keep you going when things get tough.
Remember,
Take responsibility of your own Life – and your Weight.
See you guys!
Much Love,
Zhywee (Chief Trainer, East Side)
Hellooo Trainers and fellow bootcampers
1st week gone and YES! i can see improvement.
A) What is your fitness goal?
For the next week, try to increase my fitness index to 120! current my FI is 39 ! Duh !!!! I give myself 1 week fr this. Try to gain back my ideal weight of 54 kilos. Though its a long, painful road.
B) What are the reasons why you want to achieve your goals?
Don’t want to look old and frumpy ;/ Besides after a week, I can see increase level of alertness and my legs are not swollen anymore due to walking.
C) How do you intend to achieve it?
1km of walk every day during lunch (I had classes at nightlah) gradually increase to 1.5 – 2km and at least 10 mins of work-out based on cd provided to us.
Balanced diet is still a hassle but nevertheless manage to eliminate 10% of food intake.
(*) Please let me know how to increase my fitness level further, breathing control and positive thinking always.
Ciao :>
DROP THE WEIGHT, CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
Few things in life are simple and straightforward, losing weight is no different- it’s not easy, and everyone who says otherwise is trying to pull a fast one. Deciding to change is easy; acting on it is another story.
Positive transformation takes resolve, patience and hard work. Now, take a step back and reflect on your life today. ASK YOURSELF – What are the future key events you want to be in? Some would like to be see their children get married, others would want to see their grandchildren take their first steps or most of us want to feel good about yourself in a healthy relationship. Whichever goals you have, you can achieve all these if you are willing to do the work, and are committing to becoming your best no matter how long it might take.
IT’S EASY TO MAKE EXCUSES – BUT WHY ARE YOU MAKING THEM!
You create your own reality; and if you believe you are destined to fail, chances are you will. However, if you believe you’re worth it, you can archive almost everything you want.
I know it’s scary to confront yourself, look at your life up close and really move toward change, but you don’t have to go it alone. We’re here to guide you and help you uncover your potential for a better life and a better you. Once you start to see how strong you really are and what you are capable of, the sky’s the limit.
Believe me, I’m living the dream! Cheers! =)

Hi BootCampers!
Hope the 1st week have been fun and motivating for everyone to start a new life journey focusing on ‘health & fitness’!
Remember, the goal for this challenge is ‘12kgs in 12weeks’ BUT do not lose sight of other positive aspects of losing weight- such as a positive mental outlook (that ‘i can do anything’ spirit’) that you will gain from this experience. Not to mention the friends that you will gain, having to share the same experience (’torture’ session) with.
You will feel SORE & ACHE-Y for the coming weeks BUT i gurantee that after 1 month you will feel stronger and happier. SO keep training and push yourself FURTHER & FASTER each time!
FAZ (Chief Trainer, West Side)
Kudos to the West Coast Team of Trainers and Trainees. You’ve got us off to a great start.
The spirit is infectious. We will win collectively and individually. Thank you for the
motivation.

4 days a week, cut food intake by 20% and NO BEER!
Help me GOD.
Sore muscles, agonizing pain and balancing everything else in life…….. but losing 2kg in two weeks makes me feel great…. all that exercising really pays off…. look forward to working out with the fellow bootcampers, every week to get fit and shed the BIG 12 kilos…..
Cheers
Hello trainers and fellow campers!
Hmmm, not sure if this is the right place to put down my comments or if there is another section on the site for us to write, but here are my responses:
- How come you want to be motivated?
To share a bit of my back story, I was in the TAF program for the maximum time possible (i.e. from Pri 4 all the way to JC2), due to an injury, I didn’t quite have the opportunity to be tekan-ed in army, but that left me morbidly obese 2 years back. I always wanted to lose weight, but the mountain of weight loss looked too high to even start climbing…(and when I hear stories about people losing weight, I would cynically respond that they probably were former athletes and all they were doing was getting back ‘in form’, not like me, who had nothing to start with.)
Current motivation:
Basically, I went on exchange (in Sweden) and dropped quite a bit of weight (thanks to expensive food (can’t buy junk), even more expensive public transport (i.e. walk everywhere) and the opportunity to create for myself a whole new lifestyle. Then I came back to Singapore.
My final year in University was spent maintaining, which grew increasingly harder. I love food. I love hanging out with friends who love food. Then it got worst – I started work.
6kg in 2 months.
I was bursting out of my size 32 pants.
I was spiraling down into desperation and hopelessness.
I was losing everything that I had worked hard for.
The old doubt came back, “You can NEVER lose weight in Singapore, land of good food and life that revolves around food.”
My motivation for this challenge is to PROVE MYSELF WRONG. That it is possible to adopt a disciplined lifestyle in Singapore. (If not, I guess I’ll have to migrate…)
(Other side issues includes, obesity related diseases in the family, hoping to finally being able to do a proper push up (which I’ve felt very shameful about not being able to do any), and for pure vanity: to know what it is like to have a flat stomach)
- What is that motivation going to bring to you? Why is it that you want to get started on a fitness regimen?
It will hopefully bring me to the point where I hope to find myself at the end of the program. But I do hope that this fitness program will be the spark that jump start a whole series of fitness programs. After all, it’s very easy to return to your sofa and couch, once you’re done with your “short term mission”. I want to carry on.
P.S I did include a blog which I’ve specially set up for this challenge, and I’m trying to update daily (now it’s starting to be weekly, but do check out as I blog my reflections and feelings about his challenge =))
I am happy to join this Bootcamp training as is a challenge to me to take up all kinds of fitness exercises. Being overweight can cause alot of health problem that worry me
. So after the 1st bootcamp training, i started to enter the stadium twice a week to have my 2.4 km brisk walking as it make fresh & feel lighter . In this training, whether is a loss or win,i will still keep up the effort to work harder to achieve my ideal goal as the determination is still within myself. Thank U Bootcamp trainers for the hard work . Cheers
Good to see some of you starting to share with us (online) your stories, success and goals. And the trainers would like to thank you for giving us the encouragement too! Heh – positive reinforcement work both ways, as this is a client-trainer partnership
Glad to know that you guys are seeing the trainers working hard. Now, in order for you to achieve your success, YOU will need to work hard too. We’ll do this together effectively and efficiently.
We’re already seeing some weight loss – a lot of you are coming up and telling us that you’ve lost 1 to 2kgs. That’s great! Keep up the good work! For the others who have seen weight loss, please post it up here – so we have some kind of record online.
For those who have not lost any yet, fret not – all in good time. The plan is to go slow, and burn more as you get fitter. 12kgs in 12 weeks. Set Your Sights on Target.
Do bear in mind that our workouts will be progressive – and training will get tougher as you get fitter. But no worries, as usual, you can rest if it’s too tough. Just give your best and everything will fall into place
Kudos to everyone for surviving the first week of Fitness Bootcamp!

Hi Bootcampers
I am Sanjay here.
It’s really refreshing after attending the bootcamp. After first week itself i have started feeling improvement in fitness & feeling very energetic.
My goals in joining Lose To Win challenges are very simple
1)To maintain ideal weight.
2)Stay Physically fit & healthy.
With the help of trainers from Team fitness Guru.I am sure & confident that we will succeed in achieving our goals.
Bye See you on Thursday
Hi guys!
Firstly, I would like to say “Millions Of Thanks” to TeamFitnessGuru esp to Herman (our trainer for Bravo 3- East Side), Matt Azmy (One of the Bravos’ trainer), the “Flamingo” Lady (sorry babe, Didn’t catch your name!), Zhywee and all those trainers in East side of cos not forgetting Sharm, Master trainer.
Cheers
Ash
First of all, thanks to all our trainers and HPB for organizing this programme. I am glad to be chosen to participate in this lose to win challenge. It has always been one of my aspirations to lose the extra weight in my body but there is no motivation to do so. Eversince the programme started, i have lost about 4 kg in just a short stint of time. Of course, it comes with a price.. sores, cramps, giving up favourite food, extra time to do my own exercise etc. My ultimate goal is to lose 30 kgs and looking forward to see the “NEW” me in 3 months. CHEERS!
Secondly, its about I, ME & MYSELF!
So far I’ve never been slim, small or petite..
I even had few nick names during primary school- FATTY Bom-bom lah, Badak/Gajah (rhinoceros/elephant respectively in Malay) and so on & so forth.
Thanks to the genes in me..
However, being a nurse has “opened up my eyes” a lot of times.
But that many times, I tell myself “It’s Ok, I’m naturally BIG in size!”
Nothing motivates me to do anything bout myself.
Well, that’s in the past.
I don’t know when & from where I felt so motivated to lose weight.
But I guessed I know WHY!
It’s all because of my patients (and probably those ppl who are about my size; they now are slimmer & they looked SO GOOD!)
They have really taught me many, many things.
Whenever I look at them especially those in their early 30s, they are down with Diabetes(DM) and some even had kidney failures- it makes me so the very SCARED!
WHY??
Cos I’m also at a higher risk.
My late dad, he had DM & kidney failure.
Thus, there’s always a chance to become one.
I had enough health problem ever since Yr 2003 during SARS period.
My health had been affected ever since.
So I tell myself, “ASH, IT’S TIME YOU DO SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF!”
And here I AM!
I really want to shed those FATS & unnecessary weight.
On the 11th August 2009, I weighed 96.6 kg.
I hope by the end of the 3 months, I will lose at least 12kg.
BUT then, I REALLY AIM to go down to 80kg!
I’ve done necessary change to my diet & now i exercise almost every day.
With all the help from the trainers & their motivation, I KNOW I REACH MY GOAL!
I’LL PERSEVERE!!
OH GOD! PLEASE HELP ME!
I also hope to motivate other fellow campers to that “WE CAN DO IT!”
So much from me.. So lorsoh some more..
So, I think I’ll end here. But before I do so, I just wanna say & REMIND MYSELF (& others)
“NOBODY CAN CHANGE US, UNLESS WE WANT TO CHANGE OURSELVES!”
Adios
Ash
Good job everyone for putting in effort to come down for the two session of bootcamp per week.
I see quite alot of enthusiasm from alot of you but enthusiasm by itself is not sufficient. like it has been always said: it’s easy to start something but not as easy to continue. Perserverance is the key to reaching your fitness goals.
So do keep coming down for bootcamp sessions and be constant with your exercises. Watch your exercise technique and do it safely.
To all bootcampers: Ale! No matter how tired you will feel during workouts, always remember the goal you have set for yourself.
Yingbin
Hi Peeps..
Its me again..
I’ve forgotten something..
Well Azmy, if you can do it- I CAN TOO!!
But I need you people to help me lah..
At least show me how!
I guessed you are one of my motivating factor after i heard your story!!
I am so encouraged by your personal experience.
Thanks a million!
Luv
Ash
After attending the week 1 Bootcamp, although the bootcamp is tough and having sores and cramps. I really enjoy the Bootcamp as it was really fun. Thanks to all the trainer that make the bootcamp interesting and also motivate us to move forward to our goals. Cheers to all Bootcampers and hope all will success and archive to the goal that you have set for yourself.
CHEERS
Although i get muscle aches after every session but that feels nice.
At least i know i have exercised .
I hope by the end of the events i can shed my fats as much as possible.
My weight started increasing after I start working. I tried to dieting and exercise before but did not see any effect. Also, I tend to sway from my exercise/diet regime after awhile, as there is no one to motivate me along the way.
I’m glad I joined this program. It is fun and motiviting to work out in team. Though the first week was tiring, we managed to endure. I’m already feeling more energetic now. I hope to lose 12kg and also to curb my food carvings. Let’s work for it.
Hi Bootcampers…
I enjoyed each and every moment of fitness excercises till now(even though it was difficult to get up and walk after some of endurence training…jus jokin)…
Salut to trainers for keeping our motivation(of loosing weight) burning.
My lethargic work shedule made me not loose any weight, inspite of diet control. This fun filled physical activities should do some magin and I plan to achienve my goal of loosing at least 8-9kg in this period.
With best regards,
Ra
For the past 2 weeks, what makes my past Saturday mornings worth the travel to West Coast Park is seeing each and every one of you dedicated bootcampers enjoy your workout, smile and laugh even though training’s tough (unless you think the exercises are too easy peasy, then do tell us!) and most importantly, seeing you guys work together as a team to reach ur individual goals, nudging each other to push on and not give up. I love love love the enthusiasm everyone showed, and the 200% effort everyone put in! Makes me look forward to see you guys every Saturday morning.
Keep it up, bootcampers!
Hi Bootcampers

Great seeing all of you back again for another week of bootcamp. Though some of you have mentioned you have lost about 3kg, some others have not been able to get the same results. Do not be discouraged and continue exercising! It may be what you are eating, so assess this. As I said before, physical activities and balance diet go hand-in-hand. Stay away from oily foods and reduce or cut out your need to snack especially potato chips, biscuits, etc. Also consider cutting out desserts (no matter how much we long for a good chendol) and supper like roti prata. Eat in moderation and if you need to snack, consider fresh fruits or even dried fruits like prunes (don’t cringe, you will be ok) and cranberries. You can also supplement it with a handful of nuts like walnuts (has Omega-3). You might consider packing into smaller packs a mix like what I mentioned above to work, that way you don’t end up in the pantry picking bad snacks! By packing it yourself, you will be able to portion what you need and you won’t overeat. And remember, BREAKFAST is the most important meal of the day. Live healthy and enjoy your week, and keep smiling!
Arnold (Trainer, east side)
I have always wanted to loose weight and stay fit. Everytime I start on a program, it goes on well for a few sessions but there always comes an excuse for not being able to continue.
We had our first bootcamp session on Saturday the 15th August. When I woke up on Sunday, I thought something is seriously wrong with me. My legs were stiff and arms hurt. It was by Wednesday that I got back to normal. Yet I was one amoung the first few to arrive at the West cost park on Thursday and Saturday for the second and third session. All credit goes to the trainers.
The loose to win bootcamp it not only designed well but is also great fun. I am already seeing the effect and look forward to every session. The trainers are well qualified and are great to work with.
I plan to loose between 5 to 10% weight by the end of the session. In addition to the workout at the bootcamps, I intend doing some running for half an hour atleast three times a week.
Subramanian Raghuraman – Alpha 1 West coast
Ha Ha, I have lost 2 kgs!!!
A) What is your fitness goal?
To lose 8 kg by 31 Oct 2009.
B) What are the reasons why you want to achieve your goals?
To wear beautiful dress to attend our Company 25th Anniversary Dinner held on 6 November 2009(just kidding).
Main resson is to stay healthy by reducing my BMI (18.5 to 22.9) so as to achieve Low Risk in getting Cardiovascular disease. My late mum had diabetes, my father currently do take medicines to control his diabetes as well. Although, my mum had passed away 8 years ago, I still clearly remember how we helped her injected insuline daily. Therefore I do not give myself a chance to become one!
C) How do you intend to achieve it?
Eat Leaser by lower my food intake portion. Drink more water to help reduce my body fat and increase total body water percentages. I used to drink 3 – 5 glass of water per day that I feel is not enough. I shall drink at least 8 glass of plain water per day. Going swimming weekly with my children.
Lastly, wish all Bootcampers will success in achieving our goals.
Jeannie (Bravo 2, west side)
Hi Trainers and Bootcampers,
Happy to join everyone in this bootcamp.
I have many objectives in joining this bootcamp. Here I go (in sequence of most importance to least):
1) Losing weight and keeping fit are the most important (to lose 12 kgs in this program)
2) Looking good without the big tummy.
3) Able to wear back the old clothings
4) Go back to the NS memory lane
5) Meeting new friends.
I must say it is not easy to push ourselves alone and together with the whole bootcampers, it is motivating to push ourselves all the way.
Here is how I intend to do it.
1) Besides attending the bootcamp, I will play games and other exercises during the week.
2) Control and be sensitive with what I eat. (hard to resist the good food, trying very hard)
3) Ensure that input is less than output in calories.
Lastly, wish all bootcampers success in their objectives in the training and have fun and not forgetting to thank Heakth Promotion Board in organising this meaningful activity.
Yong – East Coast – Bravo 1
Hi trainers and fellow trainees,
Firstly, i’d like to thank all the trainers.
My goal: Hmmm…. To lose atleast 12kg of weight in healthy way, to look younger and also to be a good looking and healthy pair to my hubby… Haha…
After the learning session, I beleive that i’d be able to achieve my goal before these trainings come to an end…. Thanks once again to everybody.
Cheers,
Josephine:)
Hi Trainers and Bootcampers,
I take up the Lose to Win challenge because I am obviously the fat one in my company lah. Especially, among the ladies. After my daughter was born, the “Fat” body has never left me. I did try the dieting program (A proper dieting program – Eat healthy food but no exercise.) It failed after I lost my disciplines.
What is my goal?
I did lose weight when I was on Dieting program but I felt tire very fast too. (My body like always in a sleeping mode.)
My goal is lose 12 kg by end of program. Joining this challenge, I am looking forward not only lose weight but to have a healthier body.
I always find difficult to do exercise alone. Coming to the boot camp is a motivation as there are so many participants joining me to do exercise together. The trainers also understand us well. They encourage us to do more but not to the extent that our bodies cannot take it. They break into different stations so that the whole work out session is not boring.
How I intent to achieve my goal?
I not worry about now. More important is after this program how to continue to achieved my long term goal – lose 30 kg and healthier body? Hope by end of the program can gather some of us to meet every week to continue exercise. (I mentioned earlier, exercise alone, will find excuse not to do it.)
Wow! Better stop now and do my stretching.
See you on Thursday.
Kit Leong
Alfa 3 at West Coast Park
A) What is your fitness goal?
To lose 10 kg by 31 Oct 2009.
B) What are the reasons why you want to achieve your goals?
To be fit and healthy especially to reduce my weight and BMI to the right level. It is important to me that i stay healthy to prevent onset of aging problems such as diseases and health issues.
C) How do you intend to achieve it?
Eat Leaser by lower my food intake portion and no food after 8pm. Do more exercise to burn those calories and fat.
Pauline (bravo 3, west coast)
Dear Trainers & Lose to Win mate
Thank you for patience and support given to me during these three sessions
To lose some weight (hopefully 8kg] and increase my fitness level and get rid of my high pressure and high cholesterol illness away, ha ha ha….
I intend to exercise more during the day as I cannot reduced by diet anymore due to I am under replacement meal [800 calories/day]. As I already lose 12kg in change of diet.
I hope to develop muscles to help me to burn more calories then my fat will decreases, great dream/goals isn’t it ?- it is a long term goals lah!
For short term goals- learn the exercise way and proper breathing during ‘lose to win’ sessions and practice them as much as possible.

ouch, ouch, ouch, last workout, stomach & elbow ache. yesterday, bum & thigh so sore.
However, this process has to happen because it meant these muscles had been awakened.
I understand that the pain is the result of breaking the down of the muslces tissues and our body will be busy rebuilding. Rebuilding needs more energy-more calories used, wow!.
So fellow men & women, bear with this pain and we will all be better shaped and healthier.
Needless to say, like everyone else, I want to look great in my overall appearance.
Most important, what I DO NOT WANT
is to have diabetic type 2, to be a stroke patient, not able to enjoy life and worst to spent all my life saving on medical care,(also cannot enjoy all the delicious food lah). So BUCK UP, get rid of the unwanted. Cheers
Hi Trainers and Bootcampers,
Ha ha, I lost only 1/2 kg after the bootcamp started still now (slow progess but good start right!)
Lose weight very hard, increase weight is much easiler, how?
Anyway to achieve my goal to lost 7 kg by 2 month (Try)
1) Buy one smaller size & expensive jean hang outside my cupboard, so every time I see it and remind me to lose weight and wear it on one day.
2) remember the formula: Input – Output = -Input
3) pushup, situp and do workout every day, jogging twise a week.
Wish me goodluck and wish every bootcamper goodluck & work hard.

Hey hey Bootcampers!!!!
Are you ready for the new week coming your way? ;p As a trainer, there’s nothing more than satisfactory to know about your progress, goals and determination. Truly appreciate you all sharing your stories and dreams. It makes a whole lot of difference to others that they are not alone.
Despite all the enthusiasm, I knw it is really challenging & tough to try to change ur lifestyle.
But think about this..exercise SHOULD BE A LIFESTYLE! Its not a hobby nor habit. Bcos, u can be sick of ur hobby. This yr u collect stamps, next yr u collect coins etc. Habits can change, from good to bad, vice versa. BUT, if u make it to a lifestyle, it is something u cant compromise. You cant say that u r too tired to sleep or too tired to bathe or brush ur teeth or to eat…….etc. Same thing to exercise & making good choices of food.
I knw it is a good feeling to see the decreasing digits in kilos..HEY!! U are in a challenge!!
But, there are other excellent factors that u should look into. You dnt pant anymore when u run aftr the bus or going up 2-3 flights of stairs. You still alert when u’r home to hv some quality time for urslf n family. U dnt fall asleep b4 ur kids when u read a book to them.
So guys & dolls, lets go thru this journey 2gthr towards a healthy lifestyle. We (TeamFitnessGuru)are here reaching out our hands to guide & assist u all the way. All u need to do is, grab our hands and nvr let go.
I am so proud of all u. The biggest obstacles is to put on ur sport shoes n actually step out of ur house. So, to see ur faces at these sessions, u are already a winner. KEEP IT UP!!!
Looking forward to see all of u this week.

Hihi to all Bootcampers…
Well, it takes a lot of courage to participate in this event. At least its how I felt. Pressure had been coming in from everwhere (family, friends and even colleagues)… Especially when it comes to the thought of not being able to enjoy savouring my favourite food… Nasi Lemak, Laksa, Fried Kway Teow, BBQ… OMG!!! I suddenly realised that I had been eating everything except the healthy stuffs!!! But still, I decided to try.
I had never been slim before and would really want to skip the fact that I am born this way. In this bootcamp, I learnt that its only up to ourselves to decide how we want to be/look. And the encouragements that come from my fellow team-mates and the trainers had pushed me to put in more effort in shedding off those extra weight.
My personal challange is to loose 8kg within this bootcamp and to reach the BMI of 25 before the 2010 CNY.
The main reason is that I am really sick of not able to find my size when purchasing clothes. Its so very irritating when the sales person come to you saying that they don’t have the size. But of course the other reason is that my dad was a diabetic and I do not want to follow his foot steps. So here I am wanting to loose weight, look good, be healthy and of course STAY HEALTHY.
How am I going to do so? Well, of course through more exercise and more perserverance on food intake.
Guys, I’m glad to say… End of my essay (^_^)
Cheers & Enjoy
Hi to all,
Not quite know what to put down… Yah!! most of us want to shed off those unwanted kilos… same sentiments here. But more importantly, I want to keep them off for good.
Personal targets & objectives are:
(1) Shed as many kgs as possible by end of October (7 would be good, 9 would be better, anything more would be best!!! haahaahaa). By achieving this, my BMI would fall to the level which is most desirable.
(2) Have fun & get to know more people who shares the same objective
(3) Be able to consistently motivate & discipline myself on maintaining a healthy physique & well-being
Lastly, a reminder for myself… dun QUIT!!

Hi Trainers and Bootcamper Mates,
Exercise is a fun especially in a group; I really have wonderful times with you all.
A) What is your fitness goal?
8kg by ends of training.
B) What are the reasons why you want to achieve your goals?
I don’t want to suffer with diabetic, high blood pressure, high cholesterol & all kinds of chronic illness(Medical cost is very very expensive), I want to enjoy life when I retire in 20 yrs times (travelling is my first choice, so stay healthy & fit is very important).
C) How do you intend to achieve it?
60min daily exercise is a must, which include 4km walk, sit-up & push-up and of cos eat less especially at night.
My favorite food: fish head steamboat (will cut down to once a month)
My favorite beer: Heineken (Stop), replace with ENO
My favorite softdrink: Coke (Stop), replace with plain water
My favorite dessert: Ice Kacang (Stop), replace with fruit juice without pearl.
My favorite snack: chicken wing (Stop), replace with apple.
Cheers
Hello trainers & fellow bootcampers..
I start to gain weight when i started on a new job, from 75kg to a fast 88.8kg in just a year, its like the heaviest i’ve been in all my life….what i hope in participating in this bootcamp is not only to loose weight but stay healthy.
Now i take more fruits & vegetables in every meals.i walk instead of taking a bus home, climb the stairs instead of taking the lifts,i know i need to do more then just that.DISCIPLINE……
i had fun on the last few session with all the trainers & all the new friends i made who shared the same goals….
See you guys on the next session….
Ok friends,
As we’ve told you last week – you only see us for 2 sessions in a week.
We need you to go for your own workouts for another 1 or 2 (strongly recommended) more sessions.
Here’s some things you can Do:
1) Jog /Brisk walk for 20-30 mins. Enjoy the fresh air outside.
2) Play sports (tennis, badminton, soccer)
3) Climb your staircase – do not take the lift. It’s very fast and free! start with 2 or 3 floors first if you cant. Progressively increase.
Say
When doing so, think and say “I’m losing calories and increasing my metabolism”
If you feel lazy, think and say “I’m NOT losing calories and not doing my best while the others are exercising”
Eat
By the way, please reduce your food consumption by a further 5 to 10% and stop eating before 7pm (VERY IMPORTANT). (if need to snack at night, take apples)
Take care!
Hi all,
Many of us joined the ‘Lose to Win’ have one common goal in mind – to lose weight.
Losing the extra kilos to attain our ideal weight is really a feat that I’ve been trying very hard to do. Looking at all the posts really motivates me to persevere and survive the bootcamp.
Having put on the unhealthy weight in addition to stress, I have developed high blood pressure, knee problem, body ache and high cholesterol.
Looking back – why I put on the extra kilos that I don’t need? There are many reasons:
I am not determined enough to resist the temptation of ‘good food’
1) I do not want to waste food. When our children cannot finish their food, we became their ‘rubbish bin’. If we eat out, I also want to make the money worth so I gobble down the leftovers.
2) I am always sitting down in front of the computer when I work. After every meal, I sit and work.
3) I gobble up our food to be the first to finish, to get back to work.
4) I love food that have the extra hm! such char kway teow, laksa, nasi bryani, nasi lemak, chocolate, frapucinno, Mcdonalds burgers, KFC etc.
5) I procrastinate to exercise or to diet. There is always tomorrow. We can always start tomorrow.
6) After finish work I am too tired to exercise. I am too lazy to walk the extra distance since there a lifts and other kind of transport to reach our destination.
7) I am always offered yummy food, have treats and celebrations through buffets and such which I cannot resist.
I think if we can overcome the above, you and I can reduce and maintain the healthy weight and lifestyle. Its MIND OVER MATTER!
Cheers to everyone in the Bootcamp! Keep it up.
By the 3rd month we will see tremendous results and achievements if we persevere……….!
Good luck from BRAVO 3
Hi All,
Thought that only need to do pyhsical workout and attend some nutrition class, who knows still have home work to do, self discipline to record our own diet, exercise etc
No choice, no turning back now, so just do it loh..
Goal ??? 5% to 10% of weight by end of section
Why ??? stay healthy, medical fees too high
How ??? control diet eat more fruit and vegetable, white meat rather than red meat, more exercise target 30 mins daily
Don’t plan only, action is important
Good luck
Good evening all,
I am here to share a little bit of my story and I hope to help myself keep focus of my goals ahead of me. Let me begin with a little background about me. I am born into a great family of 3 siblings. I am the “OK lah” amongst the three of us. I guess that carefree attitude probably caused my weight gain during my childhood.
During my younger days, I live with my grandma who is a great chef! She always pamper me with the greatest Singapore signature dishes: Lor Ba(Braised Pork/Chicken); Curry Chicken; Sweet Potato Porridge; Pork Chop; Popiah; Soon Kuey. To be really honest I am spoilt with choices! What’s more, the hawkers located around the vicinity, love my outlook and always seem to give me that extra. I guess all these develop my love for food.
However, once I moved onto secondary school, my focus shifted. I wanted to look good. I wanted to be more sociable. This would motivate me to lose weight for the first time. In about 2 years, I lost about 20kg. I was confident and more importantly I had achieved something. This was when some comments from certain people who got to me. Although I lost that much weight, I was still bulky to say the least. When I asked about some Youth Flying club stuff, the attendant who comment that I am still overweight, blah blah blah. Somehow it hit me. My family and friends would say great job, but this stranger just simply had to say I am fat. It left me introverted to a certain extend. To be honest I am not the most social-able person to begin with and thus it led to food which became my “escape”.
As I moved on to Polytechnic, I had pretty much begun to lose interest in workouts. My food intake had sky rocketed, and there was literally no stopping of it. The journey during my poly days were as such, I had a wonderful clique in class. I also had a wonderful girl friend whose friends were really fun to hang out. My classes had freedom apart from the lectures, the tutorial allowed us to do our thing: including eating! My day would start off with a breakfast @ say 730am with my girlfriend. 2nd breakfast @ 1030 with my friends. Lunch @ 1230 with my girlfriend & co. Ending with a “snack” @ 1500. Looking back I have no doubt how my weight just ran into to the 100s and at my “peak” 125kgs! I would never learn how to control my diet, as I didn’t want to disappoint.
Being Asians as well, when you are accompanying guest @ you don’t want them to feel awkward eating alone so you join them. (I am one of them) This meant I had triple meals, even though I was not feeling hungry. Like what we have learnt @ the first Nutri talk, my hunger was compounded more because of Psychological reasons then that of physical one. Sadly, I was to enlist on the June 2007. TO BE EXTREME OBESE Company: EAGLE!
E2109 That was my code in BMT. I was really shocked that there were “others” like me. To cut this story short, my BMT days was my second coming for weight loss, my brothers in BMT helped me so much! From 125kg, I lost an amazing 40kgs! As I passed out from BMT I was @ 86kg and I was a proud soldier. Little did I know that the good days are short coming.
During my specialist training I had a really bad fall. My knee hurt like mad, but being the stubborn me, I continued with the trainings and IPPT etc. I pushed myself through the pain barrier not knowing that it would be putting my own health @ risk. It was the end of my specialist training, by this time my knee was so painful I had a tough time walking, let alone run. I couldn’t do much so I decided to check my knees out.
To my horror, I had a tear on my ACL. I don’t know the medical definitions and all, but what I knew was I cannot run for a LONG LONG time. The “good” part from all of this was that I didn’t require surgery. I was to use the “passive” treatment. I was mentally devastated. Ask any army guys and they would tell you the one and MOST IMPORTANT part of keeping fit would be to run. In fact having a low metabolism rate, running was my key component in the “calorie” balancing act. Sadly, by the end of my service, I was pretty much @ square one. I had put back most of the weight I had lost. In my mind I knew that it would be physically/mentally possible for me to ever do all of that weight loss challenge again.
Fast-forward 3 months. I am working and I noticed a very interesting email. Lose to win challenge. I didn’t give a second thought, I had already put my name forward. I guess my enthusiasm or something showed or simply god wants me to give weight loss another crack! Now 2 weeks into the challenge. I feel better equipped with knowledge about weight loss. I have the comrade of my colleague, friends and “company/platoon” mates training with me on Tues and Sats. My goal for this challenge is to lose 15kgs! More importantly away from the number crunch I want to be motivated to lead a healthier life!
All in all, I hope that this entry would be a little inspiration to some. I know that this would be my 3rd attempt at changing a lifelong lifestyle but never the less I am not intending to give up! As they say in America: YES WE CAN!
Cheers to all who want to make a change in their life/lifestyle! I hope that my next entry here would be one of progress. Cheers!!!
Hi Everyone,
My goal is to lose 1 kg per week and be able to fit into my “M” size dress by the end of the Bootcamp. I want to feel lighter and healthier. I had a good start by cutting down my intakes of fatty foods and junk food and walk up the stairs home. Feeling good about it until after my last exercise at west coast last Sat, I sprained my ankle and had the worst sore on my thigh and bum, so bad that I cannot lift my legs to dress myself. Believe I did not had a good warm up b4 embark into the exercise. I missed church service on Sunday and had to took leave on Monday as can hardly walk properly. I did feel lousy for a start but I tell myself I cannot simply gave up like that, I know I want to do it and I can do it, so for sure I will try be early on the site to warm up. Thanks to my “wonderful pain a trate” cream, my aches are gone though still walks a bit funny but am feeling great today. See ya guys at Esplanade.
Eloooooozzzz!!
This will be our 3rd week today with the trainers… time really fliess.. and i’m getting worried.. coz not sure if i’m losing weight like u say sharm 12kg in 12 weeks.. like impossible leh?? how arh?? what if we are not losing those kilos?? That will be so demoralizing after 12 weeks:-(
okiezz my goal… to lose weight for my wedding??? Help meee??? but of coz lah to maintain that weight after wedding too.. but hey sometimes laziness overcomes the determination.. hehe..
okiez seems like everybody is giving positive remarks and am i the only one giving concern and negative point of view? I’m just being pessimistic..
well just my point of view..
Dear all,
It’s always been hard for me to lose weight due to my involvement in voluntary work, there are so many entertaining programs each month, not to mention that the coming 7th month, it’s going to be temple dinner once or twice a week at least, and with friends birthday and celebrations, it’s eat out day all the time (I am food lover and cannot resist any food offer)
I have not drop a single kg after my 2 weeks of training but I could see that my arm muscles are getting harder and bigger, my girl teased me that I have a man’s arm now, which I am quite proud of because it’s not `waving’ or `sagging’ flesh anymore.
Thanks to all the push up and punching exercise conducted, I think my goal would be building up of muscles rather than losing weight.
Hi All,
Trainers are really wonderful.. the way they motivate and help us to improve our fitness level is marvellous.
Goal – Lose atleast 12 kgs by end of boot camp
Why – Stay healthy and want to reduce my tummy, to increase my fitness level
How – Attend all the 21 boot camp sessions, control my diet by eating more fruit & vegetables,
and do atleast 30 mins of exercise daily.
Come on guys & gals we all can make it happen..
Let us make the trainers proud of their achievement.
one, two, three bootcamp.
Raj
Since joining the boot camp I felt much fitter than I was before.
I could complete a 10km jog last Sunday on my own.
Hoping to do well in the coming Mizuno Wave Run and Stand Chart Run..
Hence will will hard during Boot Camp Training..
Yeah me too 1.5kg gone since the first “relax” session on 11/8/09 at Yio Chu Kang stadium……..
i do my own exercise such as swimming, jogging and stretching (half squat) despite “Boot Camp”.
Well my goal is to lose at least 12kg by 31/10/09 if not by 31/12/09 also not too bad and late, i am now getting very uneasy if i don’t exercise every day compare to previously.
Last but not least, I must thanks to my husband and my two lovely children for their support, of course the great thanks should go to the main sponsor – Health Promotion Board and all trainer from Team Fitness Guru.
Hi all…
When I heard about Lose to Win, I know it’s time for me to put down enough determination & discipline to shed off all the excess fats.
From the 2 sessions of boot camps that I’ve attended, it’s really tough & tiring but I know my fats are burning off…
I’m happy with the results after my 2 sessions of boot camp as I managed to lose 4kg together with a controlled diet (actually I kick off my controlled diet the week before Lose to Win starts).
Here’s my goal:
To lose 15kg ~ 20kg healthily
All fellow boot campers, let’s all work towards our goal & look out for our achievement.

Wow! I had lost about 1.5Kg already.
My goal is to keep BMI below 23.Now is above 27
Will try my best to achieve my goal during the period of lose to win challenge.
It’s been a long time to feel muscle aching and it feels really good.
I can sense improvement as my muscle ache reduces with each session of exercise.
Got to keep telling myself – Move more, Eat Less!
Dear friends,
Its great and fun doing exercise in a group. The spirit and ‘can do’ attitude is fully charged.I used to jog regularly. But i was feeling like i wasn’t loosing weight. After attending the first two session itself, people have started asking like ‘Hey buddy, looks like you have lost weight’.It’s really a positive sign and keeps me focused.
My goal is to lose atleast 10kg by end of boot camp.
MY special thanks to the trainer for their encouragement and support.
Hi,
A Big thank you to all of the trainers!!!
Group exercise is amazing! It’s so much more motivational when you are doing exercise in group!
Fitness goal: To reduce 15% of my weight
Reasons to achieve your goals: Increase fitness level & Stay Healthy & Look HOT
How to achieve: Exercise + Diet = Success
Excercise: 5 days per week, 2 times with BootCamp and 3 times on my own
Diet: Eat more meals with smaller amount of food. No Carbohydrate after 8p.m.
Thinking: Think Positive, set realistic short term and long term goal
Everyone can MAKE IT! We can MAKE IT!
A big round applause to all of the participants and trainers!
Didn’t expect myself to take part in a weight loss programme. but need to admit to myself that if i dont admit it … no one will be able to help me as i increasingly pile on the kgs. initially just brush it off by saying that it will go up and down as long as i eat less later… the later never come. used to order set meals for 3 when there is only two person eating. eating without consideration was the consequence and the kgs keep adding up. Now that i am in the challenge… it is really mind over matter.. need to constantly remind myself not to succumb to temptations…
Yes i believe we all can do it. With the help of one another.. no matter how our weight had been adding up we can definitely minus it off…
PS the past few weeks have been difficult esp with the soreness.. but it is slowly getting the hang of things and the feeling is great. no more feeling bloated after meals. ; )
The going so far is tough for a heavyweight like me, but when I see around, I find lot of people who are in the same boat. That gives us a lot of solace. I was really impressed by the enthusiasm and committment level of the trainers. They are doing an excellant job and are inspiration for all of us.
Aim: I aim to reduce around 10 kg and after going thro 3 sessions, looks like I’ll be able to do it.
Why I want to loose: Is as good as asking why I would like to live longer. For obvious reasons, I want to enjoy my life for longer and for spreading the message across.
How to achieve: Spare 30 minutes of my time at least for 5 times a week and repeat whatever we have learnt so far in the Lose to Win sessions (at least 50% of it). I am already going slow on my meals. Trying to avoid as much junk/fast food as possible. The idea is to make this a habit of my life.
Thanks to all the trainers. I love all of you for the wonderful job you guys are doing.
My teddy bear nagged at me that I have put on weight ! Oh … oh… I felt lousy especially when my GP also said the same thing. I really must commence my exercise regime and Losetowin challenge came in timely.
Having positive mindset and motivation from my mum and superior are very encouraging indeed ! Having embarked on this challenge has helped me tremendously. I am more disciplined in doing my brisk walking and guess what? I have lost 3 kgs already
Many thxs to Teamfitness Guru to constantly push us to our limits and I am confident that losing 12 kgs by 31 Oct is a possibility for me.
Good Job to our beloved trainers !
Dear all,
It’s always been hard for me to lose weight due to my laziness.I am food lover and cannot resist any food offer as my wife is a good cook
Thanks to HPB for the publicity for the loss of weight and invite my company to participate and with the support from my manager, executive and my colleague I managed to register for the campaign.
Having embarked on this challenge it is very encouraging indeed with the help of the team members that I really must commence my exercise regime and to Lose weight.
I think my goal would be building up to lose weight to be fit.I have lost 2.5kg and more disciplined in doing my brisk walking. Many thanks to Team fitness Guru trainers to constantly push us to our limits and I am confident that losing weight and to be fit is a possibility for me.
Everyone can MAKE IT! We can MAKE IT!
A big round applause to Health Promotion Board and all of the participants and trainers!
Hi….

My biggest obstacle is my mind… and all the motivation from my colleagues fellow team mates and the trainers really help a lot… So guys… I thank you from the bottom of my heart.. and will strive to reach my goal to lose more… around 6 to 12kg more hehehe
Cheers

Hi All Eastside trainers,
So glad I signed up for this bootcamp. I found that my mindset had changed gradually during the past 2 weeks. More discipline now in my food intake and exercise, always able to remind myself not to use tired as an excuse not to exercise. No longer feel sleepy during my night classes and ale to concentrate better, especially after the workout. Although it was tough, but you all never failed to motivate us to fight on.
A) My fitness goal?
I can run 2.4km in 10mins and climb 8 storey without gasping for air like I had been suffocated in 6 weeks.
B) Reasons of achieving my goals?
Want to feel how it is being light as I had never been light in my life. No longer need to drag my feet when I walk, wanted to be able to shop for small size clothes, and gain more confidence in myself.
C) How do you intend to achieve it?
If time permit, will alight MRT few stop before my work place and walk there. It took about 45mins to walk (after a few trial). Had also signed up for my company brisk walking workshop. Continuing my Taichi practise every Sunday morning. Started to use stairs in workplace rather then the lift. Reduced carbo intake, no rice at night, only stream or soup with lots of veg and fruits. Replaced high fat beehoon breakfast with cereals or oats with fruits.
Hope I can achieve my fitness goals or even more. Am glad that I had all the support from you all, my family, friends and colleagues.
Winning used to be my goal for joining this challenges, now being physically fit is my ultimate goal.
All the best to all my comrades and we all will be healthy and fit.
Thank you trainers.
My fitness goal to loose 1 kg per week
The reasons why I want to achieve your goals is to look good , to be fit and healthy.
I intend to walking up the stairs daily, I am staying on the 16th Floor. Hope one day I can walk all the way to 16th floor. Starting from 17th Aug I walking up the staircase daily … till 4th floor. (not easy) on the 21st Aug I manage to walk all the way up to 6th floor. Yesterday I never expect that I can go till 9th floor… YES!!!! WOW…. I very “chuan”..but really feel veri veri SHIOK..never expect ….. I told myself that “I can do it. I must try. If I never try, I will never know that can I do it. !!! haha)
Greetings to All!!!
I believe God is using HPB and team fitness guru to inspire and motivate people to be emotionally, mentally and of course physically healthy. As a forigner from this country i am really inspired how motivated all the contestants and how wonderful to hear all their goals. I just pray and hope that it would not end after this event. God willing we’ll still continue to strive hard not just to look good from the outside nor feel good from the inside. But to inspire more people like our families and friends, to be fit for our love ones, so that we would all enjoy our stay here on earth free from all diseases that we are at all at risk before. And Lastly to reach our fullest potential whatever our purpose in life that we have.
Thank You to all!
A) My fitness goal?
I want to reach my ideal weight which is proportion to my height. Before the challenge I’m weighing 89kgs, so i’m really very optimistic losing 18-20 kgs for me to reach my ideal weight.
B) Reasons of achieving my goals?
I’ve never had a healthy lifestyle before and i want to make it happen this time.
Before i join this challenge i was being selfish again and always thinking about losing weight just to look good on clothes, please the world and please other people that i don’t like. But relfecting deeper about my purpose in life. I’ve realize that i’m tired of pleasing the world and i can dedicate this challenge to God. For he brought me to this world healthy and sick-free, but as time goes by my lifestyle have changed. I abused my body through gluttony, most of the time i never thought about my health just indulge myself with good things of this world, never do exercise and most of the time being slothful. Thinking at this moment, It felt like i’m destroying the very thing God gave me which is the “Life”. So I decided to take care of the body that He gaved me. This time i wanna do it for God, i wanna be a good steward of the life he gaved me. Being Healthy means reaching my fullest potential so that, anytime He can use me mightly to do His will and to be a blessing to others, to inspire and motivate them and to share to them my journey; the true life purpose. The ONE whose behind all each person’s Life.
Hi All trainers & trainees..
Excited to be selected for “lose 2 win”.. More excited when I hear trainers said 1kg lost per week with the exercise regime & balance diet of course.. Just before I gave birth to my Prince..I was a whooping 98kg!!! Slowly but gradually, I managed to shed the extras till i was 65kg..down the road, sadly, i’ve a bad habit, to eat when stressed!!! Till I’ve got my guy to push me and motivate me to lose the weight again.. its never easy, being single parent and working full time and taking up a number of activities all at the same time…
But I set my mind that if i don’t take charge of my life and my body no one else will..so taking this step is a very good one for me.. Manage to get my mom to change her cooking styles and eating less as well with me as she needs to lose the weight too…
Training was tough, but with all the motivations from family, friends and trainers, I will fight on to go on…
My fitness goal?
To take up full marathon next year or beat my half marathon time of 3hrs and keep healthy always..
All the best to all other participants in being healthy and fit.
Thank you trainers.
Hi Bootcampers
After exercising, I feel more confident and energetic. Even though training was not easy but I definitely enjoyed the whole session with the team.
My goal is to lose 15kg so that when I go shopping, I get to buy those nice clothings. It is sad whenever I see the clothings that I like but there isn’t my size.
Let us work hard and loose as much weight as we can! Jiayou!
Lastly, I would like to thank all the trainers that put in soo much effort and patience to help us achieve our goal.
Cheers.

Reflections: This week was like wake up call to all muscle parts in my body! I cant believe my stamina and muscle strength has dropped so much since i join the work force 4 yrs ago.(was in hockey school team previously) The aching muscles do tell me tt i am really using them in the workouts. Panting and sweating with 120 others was pretty touching as i see the determination in all.
Goals: I have signed up Stan Chart Marathon yet again this year. Last year i did 10km in 1hr 30min. This year my friends have up their challenge to half marathon. But i signed up for 10km still, reason being i m not satisfied with my result last year and would like to do better for 10km, was more like a walkathon last try, so this yr i am gg to push myself to do a non-stop jog all the way. To many of my friends in the marathon, they want to do half and full marathon so as to strike off these from their “To-Do” list in their lifetime. But i never feel we should regard marathon in this mentality. Hence @ boot camp with team fitness guru, i will be waking up my muscles and pushing my stamina to the fullest. Motivating myself with “if he/she can do it, i can do even better!”
For the 1st week, i will start with something light:
- Starting with taking the stairs up and down each time i need to leave/return home.
- Walking from mrt to home instead of taking feeder bus (5 bus-stops)on 2 weekdays after work
- Cutting the rice portion into half while scooping or while ordering
- No gravy and no sauce during meals
- No eating after 8pm
Thanks to all the trainers for a good 1st week, i be looking forward to the rest of the sessions with u all!

My objectives for participating….
- To get back my fitness
- To play floorball again
- To play floorball again
- To play floorball again
- To learn better training methods from trainer
- To get fitter.
Losing 12kg is a possible if you are well disiplined enough.I want to lose 15kg.I’m inspired by one of the trainer Azmy (have i seen u somewhere??).He was very heavy like all of us in the past.We even went to the same Coy during BMT!!(except that i’m mre senior than him!!).But look at him nw,so fit..so bro, better give me tips hw you make it all possible aite!!
Ive always been a sportsman and my passion for floorball is one of the reason why i must lose those fats.I recently retired from floorball a year ago but with this programme and some on my own,i dont see the reason why must i retire from something which i love most??
Last of all, after all these objectives are met,i wanna look just like master trainer Sharm!!hehe.
Good luck pple!!
A) What is your fitness goal?
Definitely to lose weight. Have tried lots of things like going to the gym, dieting and even diet pills (with doctor’s prescription of course!) but ended up back to square one and worse still, gained more!
B) What are the reasons why you want to achieve your goals? To look good, feel good; to be able to buy clothes more easily and not depend on certain brands like Marks and Spencer, Dorothy Perkins, etc that sells plus size clothings.
C) How do you intend to achieve it?
WATCH what I eat, EXERCISE & Self-discipline. Its easy to type these words out, but taking action on them is not easily achieved. Since the training began, I stopped taking the bus from the mrt station to the office. Its only one stop away, but I always give excuses that I’ll be extra late for work if I don’t take the bus.

Hey peeps,
it’s been an exhausting though rejuvenating experience from the start till now. It’s good to know that I am no longer listless nor easily weary from a day’s work (so no excuses not to bring my son out to the park on a wkday now!). My goal has always been to remain fit and maintain my previous sporty lifestyle. Upon hindsight, I may have been complacent into thinking that should I ever outgrow this petite frame of mine, I’ll just need to crank up my exercise routine. But, oh my, was I wrong! Since entering the workforce, there’s never been an exercise routine, what more a regular one. It’s always a case of ‘feel guilty from food indulgence, go for a jog…but if no guilt, no jog’. Inevitably, input > output and figure becomes fuller. So, now here I am psyching myself to COMMIT, EXERCISE & MAINTAIN. Hopefully, the end of this programme sees me a more a disciplined and trimmer person.
Wishing the same for the rest of the bootcampers….FIGHTING!

My team-mates “cheered” me on and it’s an encouragement! At 56, I just want to keep fit and grow old gracefully and still able to enjoy life to the fullest…
Discipline is most important. I made it a point to exercise for at least 30 minutes daily be it just stretching or brisk walking..
Keep it up !!
Hi all,
I so happy that I have lost 3kgs since last weekend I go n weight. Hopefully by the end of the session I can able to lost 12kgs after 3 month time.

sincerely wati Frm CGH
Hi trainers,
I’m very grateful for being selected in this programme even though I’m a standby back-up.
I think I can cope with these exercises but maybe it’ll take some time due to other commitments.
I was very touched when my 4 kids showed their interests and took part in the exercises when viewing the video…
That made me motivated in doing the exercises.
My goal>> to get into size “M” >> that’s the size before I got married.
My target weight = 50kg at least!
My ambition > to encourage my other siblings/relatives/friends that age doesn’t matter so long as your determination is there….Am I right? YES!
With best of regards from,

Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Why am I here? To lose weight, of course!
I’ve been “postponing” my exercise regime from day to day, week after week, year after another, with an often heard-overused-extremely famous excuse, “NO TIME”. I keep telling myself I need to do something now to shed my last post pregnancy weight off.. But I do have another problem.. I cook & I luuuurve to bake. I find comfort in food. Simply loves & enjoys them ;>
So here I am.. willing to work hard, put my ENDURANCE to a test, expand my world of DISCIPLINE and PERSEVERENCE and very importantly maintain a good HEALTHY lifestyle.
Trainers, I’m confident that you guys can bring a slimmer, svelte and SEXY me BACK!

I had a rude shock 3 months ago during the anuual checkup that my sugar level is high. I have always considered myself healthy because I had not seen a doctor for the past few years or on medical leave. However, I do realized that I have been putting on weight probably with numerous work functions (good food & wine) eversince I joined this wonderful company.
With the advice of doctor, I need to exercise and cut down on my food intake. Since then I have been very selective on my food intake but without motivation to exercise. In early Aug 2009 during the review with the doctor, there is only a lost of 2 kg but not much improvement in sugar level.
When the notice on loose to win competition being circulated to us, I have immediately signed up as this will give me motivation to exercise and my goal is to lose 5 kg. As being told by the trainer that we should be excerising on our own for the 5 days on our own, I started first to walk up the stairs (13 floor) non stopping and felt that the seven minutes is not good enough. Since last week, I started walking home (40 minutes walk) after work for the 4 week days and on the last 2 Sundays I walked from home to City Hall (one hour’s walk).
Two days ago during my medical review, my doctor was very pleased to note that my sugar level has gone down to a manageable level. I believe on my next blood test, I will have tremendous result with my committed exercise and selective on food intake.
Thanks trainers for the motivation and helping me to get my health back!
Hi all trainers and Bootcampers,
A) What is your fitness goal?
Hi all trainers and bootcampers,
Hoe It’s not too late to comment… Ignore my first post as I was trying to copy the questions
1) Fitness goals
– lose weight maybe around 8kg
2) Reasons
– look good, feel good, motivate my kids to do it too
3) How?
.
– Bring my family with me for at least another 3 more sessions ( excluding bootcamp itself)
– be more cautious about food intake…….I LOVE FOOD
I’m very motivated to go for the Boot Camp; because there are so many unexpected excitement and friends whom are there to suffer the ’same fate’ ie kanna torture by the tough exercises which we have to go through. Nevertheless, we really enjoy and have fun together.
I hope that my ’stubborn FAT’ will say goodbye to me at the end of the 3 months training.
I’m still very sceptical about…..about the next two fitness assessment.
Do you know that you have to love yourself before others can love you?
I didn’t know and I couldn’t.
How does anyone love herself when she hates even her own reflection in the mirror?
I used to take muay thai and brazilian jujitsu but have since stopped due to lack of time (honest – i work full time and study part time) and poor health (it’s a vicious cycle, i tell ya). I really piled on the pounds when I started overeating to cope with stress.
The day I joined the program is the day I made the decision to change all that.
Needless to say, my fitness goal is to be able to sustain myself on an exercise regime once I get started so I can lose all the excess baggage (mental, emotional, psychological and taking up the most space – physical). Truly, I do realize that I feel a lighter being after exercise, sweaty, sticky but most definitely happier! Moreover, I am someone who has been at best, plump and at worse, obese throughout my life and would really want to lose it once and for all.
I have started to climb the stairs to my house on the 9th floor every night (trust me, it’s a real mental struggle especially since that damned lift stops on every floor), I am keeping track of what I am eating and trying to keep my daily calorie intake to below 1,500 calories. I am also drinking lots of water (are those frequent runs to the toilet part of the exercise, I wonder?), going to the gym to run for at least half an hour twice a week AND skipping at home/work (i work in the great outdoors, yippee!) for 15 minutes once a week… WELL, these are my INTENTIONS (some are well intended, but lacks the willpower) and I hope I can be disciplined enough to keep to it and not give up even if I do lapse at times!
*Sorry I didn’t use my real name, I really do have freckles though. I feel shy posting this out in cyberspace with my real name even though ”
Studies have shown that public declaration of goals results in better results.”
Find me if you can

wow….jus got back to my network
1st week? hard huh….. maybe too long never “move” that hard and much!!
Sored & pain all over, but glad it’s over now!
Will go for it? sure….. whynot

And lots of nice clothes which I cant fit in anymore..
C) How do you intend to achieve it?
By exercising and motivating myself and a have a good diet.
Frankly, I am surprised at the bootcamp.. Initially, I had misgivings about going for the sessions but i told myself that if i give excuses everytime, I will never be able to meet my goals. Its been 4 weeks already, although my weight loss is not a lot, but I feel motivated to work harder and get fitter.
Thanks to all the trainers and friends who push us to do our best and give more than what we think we can give at each and every session..
I have been reducing weights by reducing food consumption and cut down oily, sweet, salt… food to 800 calories replacement meal now. Therefore to reduce further weight I have to turn to exercise
I decided to join the ‘Lose to Win’ to learn the proper exercising with guidance from the trainers then practice and develop to daily activities.
